J. Lewie Harman, Sr. (1874-1960)

J. Lewie Harman was born in Allen County, Kentucky. After attending the Southern Normal School, he
took a course at the business college and then joined its faculty. When he and his two partners purchased
the business college Harman became its Vice President.

Harman became President in 1921 and J. Murray Hill assumed the duties of Vice President. Harman
retired in 1945.
