regionally by: The 2000 Scholastic Art Awards featured middle and high school art from young artists around the area and was exhibit February 5-20 at The Kentucky Museum with the awards ceremony on February 20. The Scholastic Art Awards were launched in 1923 to encourage and recognize student achievement in the creative arts. This regional competition is a coordinated effort of the Capitol Arts Center, Western Kentucky University, and the Kentucky Museum. Gold Award winners advanced to the national competition in Washington, D.C. This site will announce national winners from the region after the opening of that show in June.
