Robert
Penn Warren: Photographs by William Ferris
April 19 - August 30, 2005
The Kentucky Museum joins in the Robert Penn Warren Centennial
Celebration with a photo exhibit featuring the work of William R. Ferris,
distinguished professor, author and photographer at the Center for the
Study of the American South. Ferris captured Warren, wife Eleanor Clark,
and several friends on film in 1987 when he visited them at their Vermont
retreat. To

Stitches: Quilts and Needlework from the Kentucky Museum
June 1 - February 13, 2005
Traditionally,
needlework has provided women with an outlet for creative expression
through the making of functional and non-functional textiles. More
recently, men have picked up needle and thread to make their own creations.
This exhibit shows a sampling of quilts, needlepoint and samplers
from the museum collection made by both women and men.

artists and Very Special Arts student artists, art work creatd by the

American photographer Brent Whitlow of Bowling Green, Kentucky, exhibits
photographs taken in the Warren County area in the past year. These
photos are images of community and show people working, playing, and
celebrating.

Bank Bill "Whitey" Sanders: Comic Opera
Opens October 26, 2002
In 34
years as an editorial cartoonist, Bill
"Whitey" Sanders observed American society. Winner of
the International Salon of Cartoonists award, he worked at the Greensboro
Daily News, Kansas City Star, and Milwaukee Journal. The Whitey Sanders
Collection at the Kentucky Building offers commentary on the actions
and political agenda of key politicians of the last 40 years. This exhibit
showcases 40 cartoons focusing on the accomplishments, foibles and faux
pas of America's elected representatives. The Whitey Sanders exhibit
will include a cartoon for everyone. Visitors will find something in
the exhibit to laugh at, identify with, or make them pause and think

William
H. Natcher: The Gentleman From Kentucky
Opened October 1, 2004
He never
missed a vote! Between 1953 and 1994, William H. Natcher of Bowling
Green, Kentucky, served as a distinguished United States
Representative. He also dictated a total of 59 daily journals with rich
descriptions of his impressions of his contemporary presidents and
legislators. This exhibit shows a sampling of materials from the Kentucky
Library and Museum's Natcher Collection that houses correspondence with
politicians and constituents, sixty-nine congressional scrapbooks dating
from 1936 to 1994, over 2,000 photographs, and nearly 300 museum artifacts
document his life.

African
American Artists of Warren County - January 17 - April 30, 2005
The work
of eight African American artists with Warren County ties are represented
in this exhibition. The art of Stephanie Foster, Thelma Green, Alan
Jay Holman, Granville Mitchell, Carl Rodgers, Vivian Snardon, Brent
Whitlow, and Thomas Withrow can all be seen through painting, drawing,
photography, and ceramics.
