Note: The most prolific of the American signed artists during
the heyday of postcards, Ellen Clapsaddle created charming
children. Among the most memorable of her three thousand or
more cards were holiday designs portraying a child and one
or more props. Clapsaddle was the "star" of International
Art Company who exercised particular care in the production
of her popular cards, with unsurpassed execution of design,
color, and embossing. |
