Item/Collection Note: Kentucky born poet and educator, Joseph S. Cotter, initiated a storytelling festival in Louisville. His use and mastery of black dialect were compared to those of his friend Paul Lawrence Dunbar. Cotter used postcards in promoting his writings and speaking/storytelling activities.
