Natcher with his Journals
Kentucky Library Photograph Collection # WHN 678
Item/Collection Note: Six months after winning a special election in August of 1953, Congressman Natcher began keeping a journal that spanned his forty-plus years of dedicated Congressional service. The journals, fifty-nine bound volumes, offer a unique personal view of the internal workings of Congress, our nation, as well as the world. It was Natcher's desire that "in the years to come my children or grandchildren will find the events recorded of interest and benefit." [Louisville Courier- Journal, June 17, 1973]
