Note: Mortuary broadsides, such as this one, could be purchased
by mail or through funeral homes or dry goods stores. This
beautiful card features a number of death symbols including
the open gates of heaven, weeping angels, the dove and a broken
column. This particular card is for Wallace McPherson (1907-1922),
and was printed by H. F. Wendell & Co of Leipsic, Ohio,
a well known producer of mortuary cards. |
