Serving
WKU
The Kentucky Library and Museum is a unique special collection of
primary source materials collected to benefit Western students and
faculty. Few campuses provide a comparable level of onsite access
to historical documents, artifacts and published materials. Academic
disciplines, such as journalism, history, clothing and textiles,
folklore, art, interior design, education and government, make the
Kentucky Library and Museum their classroom.
Prospective students and campus guests begin their visit at the
Western Kentucky University Welcome Center located in the Kentucky
Library and Museum. While here, campus visitors tour museum exhibits
and shop the museum store for University souvenirs and Kentucky
handicrafts.
A popular site of University celebrations since 1939, the
Kentucky Building opens its doors to campus events of all
kinds. University groups and the general public interested
in booking an event in the Kentucky Building should contact
Department Head Timothy
Mullin.
Speakers
from the Kentucky Library and Museum frequently give campus guest
lectures and presentations
to civic clubs, literary groups, and historical organizations.
