UA36I Faculty/Staff Personal Papers Series 21 - William Jenkins Administrative History: Documents relating to the life and achievements of William Jenkins. The series contains biographical and professional data. See also UA1C11.3 William Jenkins Photograph Collection Extent: 3 folders Dates: 1918-2002 Biographical/Historical Note: William Jenkins (1918-2002) native of Guthrie, Kentucky attended The Citadel (BA 1941) and the University of Kentucky (MA 1957) with a stint in the army in between. He came to Western Kentucky University in 1959 as a history and political science teacher. In 1961 he was chosen to establish a department of business and government which became the Bowling Green College of Business & Public Affairs. Jenkins left WKU in 1978 to serve as associate director of the Barren River Area Development District.
