UA36I Faculty/Staff Personal Papers Administrative History: The first faculty members were hired by Henry Hardin Cherry and consisted of A.J. Kinnaman (dean), Fred Mutchler (science), Frederick Roman (history and literature), J.M. Guilliams (English and mathematics), J.R. Alexander (mathematics and physics), R.P. Green (geography and ancient classics), Sarah Scott (education), W.L. Gebhart (music), C.W. Fulton (drawing and penmanship), Irene Russell (music) and Annie Marie Egenhoff (expression). Since then many more faculty and staff members have served Western Kentucky University and its students. Faculty and staff members have from time to time donated their personal and professional papers to the Special Collections Department. Some of these are maintained in the Manuscript & Folklife Archives while others are housed in the University Archives. Description: Records created by and about faculty and staff during their tenure at Western Kentucky University and/or its founding institutions. The records are arranged in series by individual person. The records represent all areas of the university. Dates: 1906-present Series: 1.
