UA36I Faculty/Staff Personal Papers Series 25: Jesse Johnson Description: Records created and collected by Jesse Johnson, Ogden College faculty member and athletic coach. These records include a scrapbook of football clippings and flyers, clippings regarding basketball and track, faculty schedules, research notes on accreditation and student organizations and his thesis "History of Ogden College." Extent: 1 Box Dates: 1923-1929 Biographical/Historical Note: Jesse Johnson, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, arrived in Bowling Green in August 1923 to head the Athletics Department, coach football and teach history at Ogden College. He held this position until May of 1927. Johnson obtained his BS from Missouri State Teachers College in 1922. In 1929 he received his MS from George Peabody writing his thesis "History of Ogden College." Johnson obtained a position at the New Mexico School of Mines after leaving Ogden. He later worked at Central Connecticut State College.
