Series 23 - Earl Moore

Description: Documents regarding Earl Moore and his work at Western Kentucky University. The bulk relates to WHAS radio programs which includes scripts, lists of music performed, correspondence with the radio station and fan mail. The remaining records include information on Phi Beta Kappa, the Class of 1937, grade sheets and some personal correspondence.

Dates: 1935-1939

Biographical / Historical Note: Earl Moore (1892-1978) Allerton, Iowa native came to WKU in 1929 as an English teacher, a position he held until 1962. He was Director of Broadcasting from 1933-1937 which involved producing WKU programs for WHAS radio in Louisville and WSM in Nashville. Moore was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and served as the class sponsor for the Class of 1937. Moore left WKU to take positions at Malone College in Ohio, Indiana University and Campbellsville College in Kentucky.
