Off Campus Access of
ProQuest Databases
ProQuest consists of five databases: ABI/Inform, Alt-Press Watch,
Career & Technical Education, Computing, and The (Historical)
New York Times (1851-2001).
- ABI/Inform
contains
citations to journal articles (and some full text materials) on
topics in business, and other related subjects.
- Alt-Press
Watch has the full text of over 170 newspapers,
magazines and journals of the alternative and independent press.
- Career
& Technical Education contains citations and
full text articles from vocational and technical periodicals covering
all aspects of the Vo/Tech curriculum.

ProQuest Computing includes citations
and full text articles on software, hardware, e-commerce, Web
site development, intranets and extranets, systems design, databases,
and technology management. The database also contains thousands
of product reviews.

The (Historical) New York Times (1851-2001)
offers full page and article images with searchable full text
back to the first issue. The collection includes digital reproductions
providing access to every page from every available issue. Select
News - The Historical New York Times under the database selection
dropdown list.

2. Click on the {Database} link in the lower left side. If you are
on campus, select the {Campus Login} button; if you are off campus,
select the {Off-Campus Login} button. Log in with your WKU Email
Athorization and Password.
3. Select EBSCOhost from the list of databases;
when you see the description, click on EBSCOhost
again.
4. Follow on-screen
instructions to search.
5. Click on (blue)
article title from results list to view and display a fuller record.
ProQuest's chart to the left of each entry shows how much information
is available -- from full text to citation only (i.e.: full text
will look like a full page).
6. To print, select
Print button from left of screen, then click your browser’s
Print button.
7. To e-mail an
article or citation to yourself, select the e-mail button from left
of screen and follow the directions. Keep in mind e-mail may not
be instantaneous.
8. If you would
like to begin a new search, choose "by word" from New Search box
at top of screen.
