E*Subscribe--ERIC Electronic Document Subscription Service on Service

E*Subscribe provides full-text access to approximately 80% of ERIC documents published since 1997, and access to abstracts of documents from 1966-1996. These full-text publications are from ERIC's Resources in Education (RIE) file, and apply to items with an ED (document) number, NOT an EJ (journal) number. E*SUBSCRIBE DOES NOT INCLUDE JOURNAL ARTICLES.

• Select WKU Libraries Internet Databases page (sometimes known as the "pink page"). This page is IP restricted and ONLY available from anywhere on the main WKU campus or via the Extended Campus computer lab sites. You cannot get to it from home.



• Choose E*Subscribe--ERIC Electronic Document Subscription Service from the menu.



• Click on the blue title, E*Subscribe--ERIC Electronic Document Subscription Service, to get access to the database.



• A. If you know the ERIC Document (ED) number for the materials you need, select "Express Search" from the menu on the left side of the page and plug in the numbers into the spaces provided.

OR

B. If you don't know the ED number for the materials that you need, select "Full Search" from the menu on the left side of the page. This will let you search for any Indexed field, i.e.: Author, Title, Publication, ED Number, Language, Abstract, Publication Date, etc.. It will NOT let you search by subject.

• The results list will be brief, consisting mostly of the ERIC Number, Title, Author, and Issue Number. ERIC Documents that are available in Full Text will have a PDF icon next to the ERIC Number at the top. All results will have a little page icon which can be clicked on for more information about the document.



• To look at the Full Text version of an ERIC Document, click on the PDF icon for it to display. This will open Acrobat Reader on you browser. Use the Acrobat Reader print icon (click on the little printer under the frame of your browser's buttons) to print.
  
  
• To get out of Acrobat Reader, use your browser's back button to return to your results list. Use the bar on the left of the page to either do a new search (see #4) or to exit.

• Please click on "Logoff E*Subscribe" to exit.
