What What are the hours of Law Collection? The Law Collection shares the same building hours as the main library, but service hours are limited to the following:
Depending on when you visit, the Government Information and Law Coordinator, the Documents and Law Librarian, the Federal Documents Specialist, or the State Documents Specialist will be available to assist you. Do the law materials circulate? No. Because of regular and heavy usage of the Law Collections, and to better serve all patrons, law materials are prevented from circulating. Can I take materials from the Law Collection for copying? Yes. You may take materials from the Law Collection to other parts of the Library. In addition to the photocopier in the Law Collection, there are other photocopiers available. Where
do I go for help? Can I get legal advice from the librarians? No. Librarians are prohibited from offering legal advice to patrons. Can everyone use Lexis®? Lexis® may be used by students, faculty, and staff. Or, try FindLaw or Internet Legal Resource Guide -- both are available on the web for free. What law journals do you subscribe to? The Law Collection subscribes to a number of journals, as well as other materials. For a complete listing, visit our holdings page. Do you have laws for states other than Kentucky? Along with Kentucky materials, the Tennessee Code Annotated is located in the law collection. Laws for other states can be obtained through WESTLAW®. Or, try FindLaw or Internet Legal Resource Guide -- both are available on the web for free. Who's who in the Law Collection? For a list of personnel, please see service hours above.
