AGRICOLA (National Agricultural Library)

AGRICOLA (AGRICultural OnLine Access) is a machine-readable database of bibliographic records created by the National Agricultural Library and its cooperators. The database provides citations to agricultural literature acquired by the National Agricultural Library and cooperating institutions; also includes subjects such as food and nutrition, agricultural economics, and parasitology. Access to this database is available through the campuswide information system, WKUNet, or through dialup remote access.

EDGAR Database of Corporate Information (Securities & Exchange Commission)

The EDGAR Database includes submissions by companies and others who are required by law to file forms with the SEC. This includes the annual report on Form 10-K or 10-KSB, which contains much of the same information found in annual reports to shareholders. The site maintains publicly available filings submitted from January 1994 to the present. EDGAR filings are posted to this site 24 hours after the date of filing.

HLAS Online (Library of Congress)

HLAS Online is the Internet version of the Handbook of Latin American Studies. The Handbook is a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. Each year, more than 130 academics from around the world choose over 5,000 works for inclusion in the Handbook. Continuously published since 1935, the Handbook offers Latin Americanists an essential guide to available resources. Updated monthly, HLAS Online provides rapid, comprehensive access to future, current, and retrospective volumes of the Handbook.

Internet Grateful Med (National Library of Medicine)

Internet Grateful Med (IGM) is a World Wide Web application running on a gateway system at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). Internet Grateful Med is most often used to search in MEDLINE -- more than nine million citations to the biomedical literature of the world, from 1966 to the present.

IGM provides assisted searching in MEDLINE (including PREMEDLINE) and 14 other databases: AIDSLINE, AIDSDRUGS, AIDSTRIALS, DIRLINE, HealthSTAR, HSRPROJ, HISTLINE, OLDMEDLINE, SDILINE, SPACELINE, BIOETHICSLINE, POPLINE, TOXLINE and ChemID. A brief description of each database is available from the IGM introductory screen. The system helps you create and refine a search, then submits the search to PubMed or Elhill, NLM's retrieval engines.

Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2000-2001 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)

Occupational Outlook Handbook 2000-2001; a nationally recognized source of career information, the OOH describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects in over 250 occupations.

You can Search by occupation, Browse through various categories (Sales, Service, Mechanics, etc.), or Browse the alphabetical listing of jobs in the A-Z Index on the page.

Product ReviewNet indexes and abstracts reviews of products from hundreds of print magazines and online sources. This source will provide citations to reviews or link to the full text if it is available.

PubMed (National Library of Medicine)

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) search service to access the 9 million citations in MEDLINE (with links to participating online journals), and other related databases.  MEDLINE is the NLM's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the healthcare system, and the preclinical sciences. The Database contains bibliographic citations and author abstracts from over 3,800 current biomedical journals published in the United States and 70 foreign countries. The file contains over 8.6 million records dating back to 1966.

RAND Abstracts (RAND)

RAND is a nonprofit institution that helps improve public policy through research and analysis. Use the online index of RAND Abstracts to search for reports that detail the research of RAND. The library receives selected RAND reports which are located on the 2nd floor of Helm Library in the periodicals area.

Scholarly Society Serial Publications  (University of Waterloo -- Scholarly Societies Project)

The Scholarly Society Serial Publications page provides links to full-text archives of some serial publications of scholarly societies. Most, but not all, of these publications are newsletters or similar to newsletters; a small number are research publications. At present, almost all of these publications are freely available. But staff of the Scholarly Societies Project anticipate that in the near future quite a number of scholarly societies will offer some of their publications in a network-based form that will require a subscription.

University Analyst Watch (Zacks Investment Research)

University Analyst Watch (UAW) is a free Web based financial research program. It contains the same data as Zacks' Analyst Watch on the Internet (AWI), but is designed as a research tool for the University community.  Use this site to find information on over 6,000 companies, including data from over 240 different brokerage houses and over 3,000 analysts on a national, regional, and institutional level.
