    • Haiwang will be responsible for Web-related purchases, in consultation with David Runner, Coordinator of Library Technology.
    • A scanner, CD-ROM writer, graphic tablet, and video converter has been purchased.
    • The full-time (15 hrs) student position to help Sandy has yet to be filled.
  2. Haiwang reported on the progress of the migration of UL Web pages from the VMS to the Linux/Unix server. The newly redesigned main departmental pages were viewed and Haiwang gave a brief summary of their various stages of development(For details see attachment). WST viewed and discussed the redesigned Reference pages.
  3. Haiwang distributed a time line of the various stages of the WST projects and who is responsible for what.
  4. Donna reported on the completion of Laura's Teacher's Guide to go with the Roads, Rails and Rivers online.
  5. Sandy reported on the updates to the Museum Education pages. She also reported that more information is continuously being added to the University Archives pages.
  6. Haiwang commented that the online survey will be coordinated with the exit survey and the results of the two will be compared upon completion of the projects.
  7. WST discussed upcoming projects and new possibilities including the Library History and Cultural Diversity.
  8. Rosemary has been working on linking the various government information pages to one newly revised page. The new page under development would incorporate both federal and state sites. The current Government Information page would be revised to conform to the new template for DLPS.
  9. Bryan reported on the pathfinder project which will be referred to as Reference Outreach. WKU academic departments will be contacted for assistance. Other means of information from Faculty/Staff personal web pages with professional information as well as outside University Web pages will be considered for content.
  10. Sandy reported on the KHQS quilt registry project. In order to bring the newer members of the WST up to speed, she gave a brief history of the interactions between this organization and the WST. It was decided that a few members of WST would reach out to assist KHQS in updating their web site in order to speed up this joint project and foster a good working relationship that has existed between the two organizations.
  11. The development of UL home page information gateway was discussed. Haiwang distributed three example pages from the Web. WST brainstormed various categories and it was decided that we would continue the discussion on the newsgroup site after we had investigated other institutions. Upon completion of the categories the WST will then work on the format of the pages. Many aspects were discussed such as public service relations, types of information to look for, gathering information from WKU departmental pages, community information and grant information.
  12. A regular meeting schedule of the second Tuesday of each month at 1:30 in room Helm 5 was decided until further notice.

For the Team, Deana Groves and Haiwang
