
Scheduled events on this calendar are official bicentennial activities that have received approval from the Bicentennial Commission. If you or your organization would like to participate in the bicentennial celebration by sponsoring an event, please fill out an activity form. (an online form will be available soon)
- WKU Bicentennial Speakers Bureau
- Invite an expert on local history and lore to speak at your organization's meeting or event. Contact Dr. Carol Crowe-Carraco at 745-3841 for further information.
- Commemorative Bicentennial Items
- Pins may be purchased through the Bowling Green AM Rotary Club. They will be sold at many bicentennial events as well.
Poster created by local artists Bill and Jill Schumm, the poster may be purchased from the Downtown Business Association, 782-0037.
Pewter Julip Cups and Paperweights engraved with the Bicentennial logo may be purchased at Barbara Stewart Interiors, 444 Main Street. These items may be personalized. Call 782-1747 for more information.
- Driving Tour of Civil War Sites
- Inquire at the BG/WC Tourist Commission office, 782-0800 about the local Civil War sites in Bowling Green/Warren County
- Walking Tour of National Register Buildings
- Pick up a brochure at the Kentucky Museum and see the WKU campus buildings that are on the National Register of Historic Places.
- First American Roads, Rails and Rivers: Warren County Then and Now
- A new permanent exhibit at the Kentucky Museum commemorating our communitiy's history. Check the gallery hours or call (270) 645-2592 for more information.
- 200 Years of Pride, Promise, Progress
- This award-winning video may be checked out from the Bowling Green Public Library or the Kentucky Museum.
