Educational Talent Search (ETS) provides educational guidance services to assist eligible middle and high school youth and adults in achieving their full educational and career potential. Services are free to all participants. Adults served by the program must be one of the following: high school or GED graduates who wish to continue their education, persons who did not complete high school and wish to obtain a high school equivalency certificate or high school diploma, or persons who left a college or vocational training program before completion and wish to resume their education. All participants of the program must reside in one of ten southcentral Kentucky counties: Allen, Barren, Butler, Cumberland, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, and Warren. Both group and individual educational, career, and financial aid counseling services are provided to middle and high school participants at their schools. Examples of topics covered in group sessions are ACT preparation, study skills, career decision making, college life orientation, and financial aid. Middle school and high school participants also take field trips to colleges and other educational programs. Adult participants receive group and individual counseling services such as assistance with college/vocational school applications, applying for financial aid, and choosing a career. Services for adults are provided at the ETS office on campus or at other locations convenient for the participants. ETS also offers assistance to youth and adult participants with special needs by identifying support services. For more detailed information, contact the ETS office.
