Dr. Connie Jo Smith has been a member of the T/TAS team since 1977. She serves as the Director for a ten county Child Care Resource and Referral; is the School Age Specialist for the Florida Quality Initiative; designs instructional materials for national associations, foundations, and businesses; and has Western Kentucky University faculty responsibilities including teaching courses in child development research, child assessment, child development, introduction to early childhood, and early childhood administration; provides training and technical assistance in early childhood issues. Her formal academic background combined with her field experience allows Dr. Smith to provide research based and meaningful services. She holds an Ed.D. in the area of Instructional Technology and Distance Education, an Ed. S. in Elementary and Early Curriculum and Instruction, an M.A. in Elementary Education with an area of concentration in early childhood, birth to eight. She has over 30 years of varied and rich experience including serving as a teacher of young children; an adult educator and trainer; a program administrator of programs for child and family services, adult training, and state collaboration; and as author of both scholarly work and pieces for the practitioner. Dr. Smith has designed a wide range of instructional materials for young children and adults. Her current professional passions include writing, distance learning, and projects that improve quality in the early care and education field. | |
