ABOUT THE WKU ID CARD

The WKU ID Card is the official ID card of all Western Kentucky University students as well as faculty and staff. Each card includes the person's photo, name, ID#, and status with the University (such as "student", "faculty/staff").

This card is required for many activities on campus including but not limited to:

Check cashing
Checking out library materials
Discounts and/or tickets for athletic events
Purchasing WKU parking permits
Preston Activities Center
Declining balance accounts - (Big Red Dollars and Dining Dollars)
Meal plans
As well as other discounts at area merchants

As you can see, if you are going to do just about anything on campus, you will probably need the WKU ID Card!

How do you get a WKU ID Card?

If you are a registered student or employed by WKU, come by the ID Center in DUC, Room 126. Our phone number is (270) 745-2417. We are open Monday thru Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m for regular semester hours. You must have a photo ID with you (such as a driver’s license) to prove your identity. Your information will be keyed into our state-of-the-art color video badging system, verified by the Registrar’s Office, and then your picture will be taken. This whole process usually only takes a couple of minutes, and your card will be issued to you right then (except in special cases such as group enrollments--ATP's, etc.).

Another great thing about the WKU ID Card - your first card is absolutely free! This card is meant to last for your whole campus career, but if your card is lost or stolen, you may purchase a replacement for $20.
