WKU PREFERRED LENDER LIST
(Stafford & Plus)

We encourage you to select one of the preferred lenders listed below for either student or parent loans.  These lenders have made a commitment to provide you and WKU with reliable student loan servicing.  All lenders listed below offer Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) of your funds to the university through an agreement with Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).

As part of WKU’s commitment to assist students and parents with the decision making process in regards to student loans, a Preferred Lender List has been prepared for your guidance. The lenders on this list have been selected based on criteria such as 1) incentives and benefits offered to students and parents 2) quality of service provided to students, parents and institution 3) level of automation of processes 4) use of electronic funds transfer 5) stability of lending institution. All lenders on this list participate in electronic processing which typically results in more timely results.

Students and parents should take the time to make an informed decision when selecting a lender. You are encouraged to review the incentives offered by each lender on the list. You are not required to select a lender on this list and are free to choose any lender that participates in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP). If you choose a lender not on this list, you must contact the office directly at 270-745-2755 for specific instructions.

The Department of Student Financial Assistance takes seriously its role in administering federal aid programs and has not, and will not, enter into any contracts to gain favors or benefits from a lender or guaranty agency.
