Independent Learning
Financial Aid Agreement

In order to receive Financial Aid for Independent Learning courses, you must complete the following form. After answering all questions please press the Submit button. Your request will then be submitted to the Student Financial Assistance Office. SFA will contact you via the email address you provided of any further requirements, the required completion date for the Independent Learning course(s) and your eligibility for financial aid.

Contact the Independent Learning Office at 270-745-4158 if you have any questions regarding Independent Learning registration. If you do not know the section number for your I/L course you can find it by following these instructions: Go to WKU’s home page. From the left hand side select Schedule of Classes. Then change the term to the semester for which you are enrolling. Look under Campus Location (right hand side – By Campus) and choose Independent Learning. Then click Show Me Classes (lower left hand side). Now you should be able to see the course name, course number and section number. If you have questions about your class and section number please cal I/L at 745-4158.

I understand that for the purpose of receiving financial aid I must take an equal number of regular class hours -- in classroom or web, which includes I/L web courses -- to the number of Independent Learning hours I am taking.

2. 






I understand that if Independent Learning courses are counted in my enrollment hours used for financial aid I must complete my course work and have taken the final exam by the end of the semester in which the hours are counted.

NOTE:

For academic progress purposes, if you do not complete the Independent Learning courses by the end of the semester you may not be eligible for financial aid for future semesters.

I understand that it is my responsibility to contact both the offices of Student Financial Assistance and Independent Learning if, for any reason, I withdraw, drop or fail to participate in my Independent Learning course(s).

I understand that if I have sufficient aid to cover 100% of my Independent Learning course(s), the Independent Learning Office will invoice Billings for my Independent Learning tuition so it can be paid from my financial assistance, scholarships, or other applicable aid.

I understand that if I do not have sufficient aid to cover 100% of my Independent Learning course(s) I must pay Independent Learning at the time of enrollment.
