TRANSFER
REQUIREMENTS
Students
transferring from other accredited colleges should request that official transcripts
be mailed to the Office of Admissions from each college attended. An official
transcript is typically sent from one institution to another in a sealed envelope
for the receiving institution to open upon arrival.
In order to provide more accurate information and better service to prospective transfer students, a General Education Transfer Report will be made available (usually within 10 working days) after they are admitted to the University. This is done to help ensure that all official transcripts are received and evaluated properly and that the transfer student is admitted to the University. You may also view your General Education Transfer Report along with any updated transfer information on-line at http://topnet.wku.edu.
Transfer students must have a minimum GPA of "C" (2.0 on 4.0 unweighted scale) for the last semester or term of full-time work, a cumulative GPA of "C" (2.0 on 4.0 unweighted scale) and be in good standing at the institution from which they are transferring. Fulfillment of minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Applicants are not allowed to ignore previous college work.
Transfer students
with fewer than 24 hours earned are required to have completed the pre-college
curriculum.
Western Kentucky University accepts credit from other institutions if the
institutions have met the accrediting standards of the appropriate regional
accreditation association. Students who previously earned course credit from
a non-regionally accredited institution may petition for recognition of that
credit. Consideration will be given to courses whose content suggests competencies
at least equivalent to courses offered by Western Kentucky University. For
further information please click here.
Please click here to see how your courses will transfer to WKU. Transfer students have the ability to view course equivalency guides, academic programs, courses offered, transfer course evaluations, and degree audit reporting in a web environment known as C.A.S. (Course Applicability System). To access C.A.S. please click here.
