About Rachel (click for more)

What sets WKU apart from the other schools?

The WKU Spirit. It’s something you don’t fully understand
until you find yourself waving a red towel and climbing over
bleachers to high-five Big Red. Before I came to campus,
I didn’t understand what “The Spirit makes the Master”
meant, and now I do. The Spirit isn’t something that’s
easily explainable, but it’s definitely palpable on the Hill.

The number one thing I encourage students to
check out is:

The WKU Study Abroad Program. I spent a semester in
Germany during my sophomore year as an undergraduate
and it changed my life. It was an incredible experience
and WKU students are lucky to have a range of study
abroad opportunities at their fingertips.

When I am not recruiting WKU students, I am...

teaching public speaking as an adjunct faculty member,
cheering for the Bowling Green Hot Rods minor-league
baseball team, talking on the phone with my best friend in
Virginia, or lacing up my roller skates with the Vette City
Vixens roller derby team.

What do you enjoy most about being an
admissions counselor?

I love meeting prospective students and their parents and
helping them make a very important decision that will last
the rest of their lives. .
