The Academic Transitions Program is a 1-day orientation program for new WKU students. ATP is required for all first-year freshmen and transfer students and offers students:

• Q&A Session
• Meet the Dean
• Academic Advising
• Class Registration and more

Parents are encouraged to attend the parent program which runs simultaneously on most dates. The $45 nonrefundable fee covers the entire program for students, including continental breakfast, lunch and materials. Guest fees are $6 per person. Please have your credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) available.

Orientation must be scheduled at least 3 business days before the orientation date. Space is limited, so register early. Once dates are filled they are no longer viewable online.

NOTE: The Academic Transitions Program is a 1-day orientation, and students must participate throughout the entire day to be registered for classes. Students who arrive late or leave early will be required to reschedule for another date.

To Reserve Your ATP Date
When you reserve your orientation date, you will be directed to our web based student system called "TopNet". You will be asked to enter your WKU ID and PIN. Your WKU ID (800#) is listed on the address label of your invitation letter or you can click on "WKU ID Lookup". If this is your first time in TopNet, your PIN is initially set to the last 6 digits of your social security number, and you will be required to choose a new PIN immediately.

Important: Your WKU ID is your main indentification at WKU. You should memorize it and your TopNet PIN for future use. You will need this information for registration during ATP.

Community College Students:  FOLLOWING LUNCH, you will go to advising and registration at the South Campus located approximately 2.25 miles from WKU Main Campus. Please have your own transportation to and from this session. Click here for directions. Directions will also be available during orientation.

Math Placement Exam
The Math Placement Online Exam must be completed at least 3 business days before the scheduled orientation date. There is a 30 minute limit which begins when you start the test. Click here to log in to the exam. Community College students must take the Accuplacer instead of the Math Placement Exam. Accuplacer may be taken in advance at South Campus or in person during ATP. Foreign Language Placement Exam
This exam is available online for students who require it. This exam must be taken 7-10 days before the scheduled orientation date. Click here to go to the Foreign Language website. Community College students are not required to take this exam.

Chemistry Placement Exam
The Chemistry Placement Exam is taken in person during orientation for students whose major require this exam. Click here for a list of majors that must take the Chemistry Placement Exam. Community College students are not required to take this exam.

Students who need to take Chemistry120 are highly encouraged to take the Chemistry Placement Exam at their convenience, before their scheduled ATP. To schedule an exam time, go to www.registerblast.com/wku. The exam consists of 60 questions - 20 on basic algebra, 20 on basic chemistry, and 20 on advanced chemistry.
