Western Kentucky University offers a Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) to qualified students who are non
Kentucky residents. Students with superior achievemnet may recieve a "Tuition Incentive Program Scholarship"
(TIPS) to pay the difference between the tuition rate for non-resident and resident. Undergraduate students attending
the main campus participating in the Tuition Incentive Program receive approximately $1056 per year.

Tier 3: Based on Academic Achievement
FRESHMAN - Any nonresident beginning freshman with a 3.4 unweighted GPA and a 24 ACT/1090 SAT.
TRANSFER - Any nonresident transfer student with 24 earned hours and a 3.4 GPA.
*Students falling into Tiers 2 and 3 are NOT
eligible for TIP Scholarships.
TIP scholarships will automatically be awarded to begining freshman with an unweighted cumulative grade
point average of a 3.5 AND a 25 composite ACT score or a 1130 SAT total.
Transfer students form an accredited college or university must have a cumulative grade point average of
3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale with at least 24 semester hours earned.
Students enrolled with a "Tuition Incentive Program Scholarship" may qualify for each subsequent
academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 of higher.
Students not receiving a "Tuition Incentive Program Scholarship" as a new student cannot receive the
scholarship at a later date.
If the "Tuition Incentive Program Scholarship" is cancelled because a 3.0 GPA is not maintained, it will
not be re-instated later.
Students falling into Tiers 2 and 3 are not eligible for the TIP Scholarship.
|Financial Benefits for Undergraduates
Tuition will be assessed at 1.25 times the corresponding
full-time resident rate for undergraduate students attending
the main campus (approximately $528 per semester above
in-state tuition). TIP can be a variety of amounts for part-time
undergraduate students, depending on the number of hours
