The first step to becoming a student at WKU is to complete the admissions online application. There is a $40
processing fee that will be collected with the submission of the application. You can pay this fee by credit card online
or you can send us a check or money order. If you are unable to pay the fee please contact Minority Recruitment
Coordinator
Kennina Porter directly for more information.

Admission Requirements

In order to be admitted to WKU you must have at least a 2.5 G.P.A. on an un-weighted scale or a 20 composite ACT
score or a 930 SAT score. To be admitted you will only need ONE of the requirements listed. You are also required to
have completed the Pre College Curriculum. For details click here: General Admission Requirements

How to Apply

Once you have completed and submitted your online application for admission, you are required to submit an official
high school transcript
and any ACT/SAT test score information. You must contact your high school and have
them send us the transcripts directly. You may not be considered for admission without these materials.

I'm in! Now what?

Once you have received a letter from WKU stating that you have been admitted to either WKU or the Bowling Green
Community College you will then call or go online to register for our required new student orientation program called
the Academic Transitions Program. All incoming freshman are also required to take a math placement exam and
certain majors are required to take a chemistry placement exam. You MUST take these exams online BEFORE your
ATP date. You may register for the placement exams through the Orientation website, http://www.wku.edu/orientation.

It is important to sign up for an ATP orientation date as soon as possible. The earlier your date the better
selection of classes you will have to chose from.

During orientation you will meet with your advisor and register for classes.
The cost for this event is $45 and it
begins at 8:00 a.m. and lasts until 4:00 p.m., so please plan accordingly.  This program will answer all questions you
have about housing, financial aid, meal plans and other campus life questions. Parent sessions are also offered and
lunch is provided at WKU's Fresh Food Company located in the Downing University Center.

After the completion of this program you are ready to start your first semester. If you are unable to pay the fee please
contact Minority Recruitment Coordinator
Kennina Porter directly for more information.
