What is the purpose of the Academic Transitions Program?
To help you become more familiar with Western Kentucky University and to meet, in a group setting, with an academic advisor from your chosen major (because of the number of students and limited number of advisors, you will not be meeting with an advisor one-on-one at this point. You will meet one-on-one with your advisor for future advisement.) You will also register for classes and actually have a copy of your class schedule when you leave at the end of the day.

What if I have been admitted to WKU, but have not made a final decision about attending at this point?
Although most students who attend the Academic Transitions Program do begin classes at WKU, if you are undecided about your college selection, we would encourage you to attend Orientation at WKU so we can show you why Western Kentucky University would be the best place for you to continue your education.

What alternate options are available for registration?
Readmission students may participate in priority registration with currently enrolled students as outlined in the Registration Guide. If registering with currently enrolled students, pay close attention to dates for registration because the alphabetical sequence is enforced.

Regional campus students (those students registering for courses that meet other than at the main or south campus) are not required to attend the Academic Transitions Program on the main campus in Bowling Green. A regional campus student may register at the regional Campus Center closest to the location of the class(es) for which the student wishes to enroll.
