We are proud to welcome you to WKU, a leading university with international reach.
A medium-sized school, Western Kentucky University celebrated a record student enrollment of 19,785 students
during the 2008-09 school year. With students from 49 states and 60 foreign countries, WKU boasts a student
population from a wide variety of cultural and social backgrounds.
Located in Bowling Green, KY, just 60 miles north of Nashville, TN and 100 miles south of Louisville, WKU’s main
campus is situated on the highest hill in Warren County. From the top you can see all six of the counties that
surround us. Being set on a hill provides our campus with a very unique geographical feature that helps us to stand
out from other universities. We also operate regional campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro, and the Ft.
Knox/Elizabethtown area that offer an extension of the spirit and service you feel when visiting the Hill.
WKU offers over 150 undergraduate programs, allowing students to customize their bachelor’s degree to meet their
professional and educational goals. Students can also pursue graduate studies including certificate programs,
Master’s degrees, and an Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
