Ron Wilson is Director of Development for the College of Health and Human Services at Western Kentucky University. Ron is a Logan County native, raised on a small farm in Lewisburg, Kentucky. He graduated from WKU with Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Communication and Master of Arts Degree in Higher Education. His professional career started in higher education, working at WKU, Murray State, and Kentucky Wesleyan. In 1997, Ron began working in development for Owensboro Mercy Health System in Owensboro, Ky., and moved to Bowling Green in 2000 to work as the Executive Director for the Commonwealth Health Foundation. In 2004, Ron joined WKU in his current position.
Ron has enjoyed serving on various committees with the Bowling Green Area Chamber over the years. He is a past president of the Chamber Ambassadors and a past chair of the Governmental Relations Committee. Ron is a current board member and actively involved in the Bowling Green Noon Rotary Club. He is active with CASE Kentucky (Council for the Advancement of Education) and has served on the planning committee, as chair of the conference, and as president. He has also served on the conference planning committee for CASE District III. Ron is also a Junior Achievement volunteer at his children’s school.
Ron is a member of The Presbyterian Church on State Street. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been married for 15 years and have two children: Madeleine, age 9, and Luke, age 6.
