Rick (Class of ’73) came to WKU early in 1997 as the first major gift officer for the Potter College of Arts and Letters and the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. In 1999 he became the University’s first director of corporate and foundation relations. In his current position, Rick serves as the liaison between the University and the business community and coordinates proposal submissions to corporations as well as private and corporate foundations. Prior to joining the Development Office staff, Rick worked for many years in the chamber of commerce business in Bowling Green and Hopkinsville.
After graduation, he spent nearly 20 years in the broadcasting industry, mostly in sales and management. Many of you may remember Rick as Western’s former public address announcer for men’s basketball and football, which he did for nearly 20 years.
He and his wife, Carol, who holds a Master's degree in Education from WKU, have two daughters, Mary Bess and Grace. Rick also has two grown children, Nicole and Richard III.
