Rest of day free to acclimatize.

January 6, 2007 (sat) -- Development in the Eastern Corridor - Isle of Dogs, Olympic Village, Greenwich, and the lower Thames (by train/subway). Overnight Hotel California.
January 7, 2007 (sun) -- London's Green Belt, bedroom communities, Oxford, and the Thames Corridor (by train). Examine the issue of acid rain and limestone damage in thhe Oxford monuments. Overnight Hotel California.
January 8, 2007 (mon) -- Explore London's urban governance structures - We will meet officials from the City of London at the government complex near the River Thames at 2 pm for a two-hour conference on planning in London. At 5:30 pm, we will convene at Café Emm in Soho for a pre-theatre dinner. After dinner, walk to the Dominion Theatre (Tottenham Court Road subway station)for an evening performance of We Will Rock You, which begins at 7:30 pm and ends at 10 pm. January 9, 2007 (tues) -- We depart the hotel at 11 am for the rail transfer to Brussels, Belgium, via the Eurostar High-speed train through the Channel Tunnel. January 11, 2007 (thurs) -- Visit Brugges, the Venice of the North. Development planning in a historical context (by train and walking). Overnight at Ustel Hotel.
January 12, 2007 (fri) -- Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and the Rhine Delta corridor. Urban Planning in a regional context (by train). Overnight Ustel Hotel.
January 13, 2007 (sat) -- Depart the hotel at 10:45am and transfer to Paris, France, by Thalys High-Speed train. This train departs Brussels at 11:40am and arrives at Paris Nord station at 1:05 pm. January 17, 2007 (wed) -- Suburban Paris - new futures for old problems in urban leadership (by rail and subway). Overnight in Excelsior Hotel.
January 18, 2007 (thur) -- Depart Hotel at 10 am for RER rail transfer to CDG airport. Return to the U.S. via Paris (CDG) and Detroit (Northwest #49 departs 1:55 pm and arrives Detroit at 5:05 pm. Northwest #1741 departs Detroit at 7 pm). Arrive in Nashville approximately 7:41 pm. Collect baggage and program officially ends.
