So What is This About?

Jack Hanes is Director of Educational Telecommunications at Western Kentucky University. As Director, he manages the Public Radio and Television services of Western Kentucky University, 14 interactive distance education classrooms, two campus cable systems, and the university TV production center. Educational Telecommunications is a department within the Information Technology Division at Western Kentucky University.
Mr. Hanes earned his Bachelor of Science in Radio/TV/Film at Indiana State University and a master of Science in Human Resource Development form Indiana State University. Mr. Hanes has over 25 years experience in Television Production and Broadcast Management, and 18 years of broadcast teaching experience in higher education.

So What is This About?

Mr. Barnaby is responsible for program "deliverables" in order to achieve the goals of the project. He returs to WKU from San Francisco State University, where he was an Assistant Professor in the Broadcasting and Electronic Communication Arts Department. Mr. Barnaby served as the IJMMT Project Co-Director from its inception in 2000 until taking the position in San Francisco in 2004. Mr. Barnaby had undergraduate degrees from the University of New Mexico and Western Kentucky University and earned his Masters degree in Communication Technology and Policy from the University of Texas at Austin. He has 20 years of experience in media production, management, writing and training.

So What is This About?

Ms. Martins joined the IJMMT in January 2007 as the Program Associate. In this capacity, she completes all those things behind the scenes that make the program run smoothly. She also serves as an ambassador for WKU for the visiting scholars and guests coming to Western Kentucky University. Ms. Martins earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Broadcasting at Western Kentucky University in May 2006. While in school she was a member of the Spirit Masters, she also worked in the Student TV News, and volunteered at several events for WKU and for the community. Juliana is now pursuing her Master of Arts in Administrative Dynamics, and she also works at the Correspondence Study helping with distance learning courses.
