In the coming months, WKU will complete the Jordan project and begin with on the fourth country since the start in 2001.
This seventh year of the IJMMT program continues the collaboration among WKU's Public Broadcasting, WKU''s School of Journalism and Broadcasting, and Internews Network, and international non-profit organization that supports open media worldwide. WKU and Internews have previously partnered to train broadcast and print journalists, editors and managers from Indonesia, Cambodia, Egypt, and Jordan.
In order to achieve its overall objectives, the WKU-Internews program will engage in a series of activities that will strengthen the capacity of local journalists to report on issues of interest and importance, especially for women, increase the opportunities to access local information vital to development of democratic principles and civil society, and improve the quality of journalism study, setiing a higher standard for the next generation of journalists.
