Students
who are interested in engraving their valuables can obtain engravers
from the WKU Police Department free of charge. Students living in residence
halls can also contact the residence hall staff to obtain an engraver.
Engraving valuables is another good way to deter theft and assist police
in the recovery of stolen property. Property Inventory sheets are also
issued to residence halls for students to record their belongings, if
they so desire. This program makes engravers available to the campus
community for the purpose of permanently identifying property. Instruction
in the use of engravers and the information to be engraved is given
at the Crime Prevention Office. An engraver can be checked out, at no
cost, through the Crime Prevention Officer.
