(E) A description of programs designed to inform students and employees about the prevention of crimes.

The crime prevention officer represents the Police Department office at various campus functions each year and speaks regularly to campus groups. Handouts are prepared and distributed to groups to assist in the awareness program. Presentations are also made to parents and students during the orientation, advisement and registration program.

WKU Police also participates in the Crimestoppers program with other local law enforcement agencies. The program actively solicits crime information from anonymous sources. The WKU Police provides a media clipboard for use by the local media. Crime information is available to the media on a daily basis.
