Outstanding Black Graduates is a students are invited to attend Western Kentucky Universitys Annual Celebration of Achievement. The O.B.G. Celebration of Achievement is a pre-commencement ceremony for graduating African American students.
CAMPUS ENVIRONMENT OUTREACH
The goal of the CEO will be to enable dialogue within communities in order to generate an inventory of issues that will assist the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Services and ODP in addressing the needs of our student communities. Issues include, but are not limited to, campus climate, discrimination, identity, and community unity. Due to the time, energy, and resources invested in each summit, they will take place once or twice each semester, with the goal of each community having their own summit every two or three years.
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
The Program involves a graduate student from the College of Fine Arts. Projects vary from art exhibits, ceramic work, sculpture and others. For more information or to participate in a workshop please contact us.

MULTICULTURAL LEADERSHIP RETREAT
This annual student leadership conference is centered on developing student organizational leadership skills. Practical workshops for treasurers and secretaries are part of the menu as well as philosophical workshops like "what does it men to be a leader", "cross cultural collaborations" and "how not to sink your own ship". The Office of Diversity Programs partners with the Student Activities Office.

COFFEETREE BOOK REVIEW
Faculty, Staff and Students provide reviews of books in a variety of areas including but not limited to relationships, political science, poetry, history, fiction and more as they relate to the human experience. MIGHTY PEN
A poetry writing circle that meets once a week. Participants work to develop their craft, share and provide critical commentary aimed at assisting the writer in improving their work. The Black Pages is a compilation of resources for the community at Western Kentucky University. This resource guide, assembled for students, faculty and staff, is intended to be a reference source containing resources that will assist individuals in their transition to the Hilltopper community.
HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION
The Western Kentucky University offers a range of programs, performances, lectures and other events in celebration of the rich heritage of communities of color that are reflected at the University. The Office of diversity Programs is committed to partnering with student organizations, departments and units to reflect the wealth of diversity present at the Western Kentucky University during these recognized months, and throughout the academic year. ODP initiates and supports the creation and distribution of several event calendars and listserv announcements, develops ODP signature events for heritage month, and participates in committee partnerships with other University units and departments.
CARRIBEAN WEEK
This multicultural and multiethnic celebration highlights Caribbean Heritage. It serves as an example of the rich and diverse heritage of the Caribbean. University and community members are exposed to music, film, history, dance and other expressions of Caribbean culture. Please see our calendar of events.
KWANZAA
As an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated by millions throughout the world African community, Kwanzaa brings a cultural message which speaks to the best of what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense. Our annual celebration of is held in collaboration with the Black Student Alliance each December.
