COST SHARING
Funds from one grant cannot be used as cost-sharing on another. There are various ways to indicate portions of a project's costs to be shared by the institution. This may include:
- the value of faculty and staff salary and fringe benefits if not reimbursed by the sponsor
- cash contributions (funds committed from specific accounts, either departmental, college or institutional)
- the use of university space dedicated to the project at $11.22 per square foot for any type of space (new rate posted 9/14/2005 -- from the 2006-8 Budget Request Guidelines of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, as issued by the Legislative Research Committee)
All budgets (including pre-proposal budgets) indicating cost-sharing are subject to institutional approval prior to submission of the proposal (or pre-proposal).
Tips for completing the sign-off sheet: All index numbers, corresponding account codes and amounts
by year(s) must be placed on the cost-sharing table of the sign-off sheet, and columns should be totaled. If applicable,
indirect cost sharing and in-kind cost sharing should be added and included in the total. Explanations of in-kind
cost sharing should be placed in the comments section of the sign-off sheet.
TUITION COSTS
Information about tuition and fees may be obtained from the Bursar in the Billings and Receivables Office, telephone (270) 745-6381. The web address is http://www.wku.edu/Dept/Support/AcadAffairs/Registrar/
TELEPHONE NUMBERS FOR MAILING INFORMATION
General information: If you are rushing to meet a deadline for submission of a proposal, it is best to determine in advance which mailing service you are planning to use.
As a general rule, if you intend to use the campus post office in the Downing University Center to send a proposal by U.S. Postal Service Express Mail, the package must be in the post office no later than 2:00 pm to go out in that day's mail.
The Bowling Green 11th Street post office (between College and Center Streets) must have the package no later than 4:30 pm (weekdays) in order to include it in that day's Express Mail shipment.
The Bowling Green Scottsville Road post office must have the package no later than 5:30 pm (weekdays).
PLEASE VERIFY THIS INFORMATION BEFORE MAKING YOUR MAILING PLANS. Contact the appropriate office and ask them when they need to have the package in order for it to reach its intended destination by the deadline.
