Pre-Award
This phase of the grant process involves: searching for external funding, following steps and guidelines in writing a proposal, developing a budget, obtaining necessary University approval through the sign-off process, and submitting the proposal to the sponsor agency.
Post-Award
This phase of the grant process involves: negotiating and approving award contracts, preparing a chart of accounts, setting up a University Index number, issuing subawards to other institutions, approving post-award budget modifications, negotiating funding extensions, and assisting with the final close-out of the award.
