WKU Employees have the opportunity to purchase Short Term Disability insurance through Sun Life. The plan benefit consists of 60% of the employee's weekly salary up to a maximum of $1250 per week. Short Term Disability is designed to protect the employee from income loss and other financial hardships associated with absence from work due to injury, sickness, or disease. Premiums for STD are based on age band tiers. It is important to monitor your rates each year to determine if you are moving to a new age band tier.
