As some of the members had not received the Process Improvement Project packet for review, this will be tabled until the next regularly scheduled HRC Meeting.

Radio issues

John Osborne requested Interim Director Goulet to research what current radio system we have in place and make recommendation as to what type of system we would like to have if we upgraded.  Radio training and radio etiquette also discussed.

tcnw drain/flood issue

PM Chaney discussed with Senior PM Johnson; draining issue continues to be problematic at this location; involves handicap accessible ramp; elevator issue also discussed at this facility; ADA issue.  Goulet will discuss at next ADA Meeting.

Update sidewalk repairs

Ongoing issue due to budget; PM Chaney getting ready to pour concrete at Gilbert Hall.

 

 


 

Lighting PS1

Discussion

Manager Harrison, Supervisor Berthelot and Tuggle walked PS1; found lack of lighting; safety issue; created Night Electrical Lighting Team to work at night replacing lights were needed on campus.

Cross training of personnel in shops discussed to allow staff means to learn in different areas and as an opportunity to grow and advance in preparation for several DFM employees who will be taking early retirement.  Director Goulet will discuss with managers.

 

vendor parking

Discussion

Discussion was held regarding shop vehicles parking in vendor designated parking spots and vendors having to park in other shop areas’ parking spots; discussion held regarding need to number parking spaces.

P&T Issues

Discussion

P&T staff members who drive Gators checking vehicles for permit violations are driving on grass instead of walking campus.   Director Goulet will discuss with Jennifer Tougas next week.

student workers’ uniforms

Discussion

Student workers are not adhering to department’s dress policy, i.e. wearing sandals, (safety issue); not wearing WKU DFM uniforms as other employees are required to.

dfm truck usage

Discussion

Grounds Assistant Supervisor’s truck parked full week while assistant supervisor on vacation; none of grounds crew allowed to use.

hrc by-laws

Discussion

Tenure on HRC discussed; Interim Director will review bylaws.
