GRADUATE COMMENCEMENT SCHEDULE
Friday, May 9, 2008

6:30 p.m.
Pre-commencement music begins in Diddle Arena.

7:00 p.m.
Commencement ceremony begins with the Grand March of the platform party, faculty and degree candidates. Each graduate will be individually recognized, and the ceremony is expected to last approximately one and one-half hours.

Immediately following the ceremony
A reception for all graduates, their family and friends, and faculty will be held in the Hall of Champions in Diddle Arena.

Commencement ceremony begins with the Grand March of the platform party, faculty and degree candidates. Each graduate will be individually recognized and the ceremony is expected to last approximately two hours.

3:00 p.m.
Commencement ceremony begins with the Grand March of the platform party, faculty and degree candidates. Each graduate will be individually recognized, and the ceremony is expected to last approximately two hours.


DIRECTIONS

From I-65 North (heading south):  Take the second Bowling Green exit #26 and turn right onto Highway 234 - Cemetery Road.  Follow 234 for 4.1 miles through six traffic lights.  The name of the road will change from Cemetery Road to Fairview Avenue to 6th Avenue.  Turn left at the seventh light onto College Street.  Then go through five traffic lights to the top of the Hill in front of Cherry Hall.  Turn right, go down the Hill and bear to the left onto College Heights Boulevard. 

From Natcher Parkway (heading south): Take exit 7 of Natcher Parkway and turn right onto US 231 (Morgantown Road). Follow Morgantown Road 2.5 miles into Bowling Green.  At the 3rd traffic light, which is the junction of US 231 and US 68-80, turn left onto Russellville Road, travel 0.2 mile to University Blvd, and turn left onto University Blvd.

From I-65 South (heading north):  Follow I-65 north to Bowling Green.  Take exit 20 (Natcher Parkway) and follow the Parkway north to exit 4 (US 31W).  At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto US 31W (Nashville Road) and go 2.8 miles to the 7th traffic light, and turn left onto University Blvd (Business 231).  Stay on University Blvd through 3 traffic lights. PARKING

Commencement participants and guests are strongly advised to plan their arrival with sufficient time to locate parking. Both parking structures will be available for parking. In addition, several parking lots are located within comfortable walking distance of Diddle Arena. Refer to the map of parking locations located at www.wku.edu/transportation. A limited number of parking spaces have been reserved in the parking lot adjacent to the stadium for all individuals who possess a handicapped parking permit, and that reserved area is located in front of Diddle Arena across from the Downing University Center.

Commencement Crowd.

SEATING

All seats for families and guests of the graduates are available on a first come, first served basis.  It is recommended that guests be seated 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony and enjoy the pre-commencement music. Assistance will be provided to guests with mobility impairments. Prior arrangements do not need to be made for these guests.

VIDEO AND WEBCAST

The commencement ceremony will be broadcast live by WKYU-TV channel 24 (cable channel 11 in Bowling Green, channel 6-Telescripts in Glasgow, channel 24-Electric Plant Board in Glasgow, and channel 6 in Franklin; check your local listings for broadcasts in other communities).

DVD's of the ceremony are available for $35 each and can be ordered at the commencement ceremony. Orders after May 10 can be placed at www.wkyupbs.org and inquiries should be make to WKYU-PBS at (800) 599-2424.

Commencement ceremonies will also be webcast live on WKU Sports.tv Streaming Video available at http://www.wkusports.tv/. To be able to view the ceremony online, you must have a high-speed internet connection and Windows Media Player 9. PHOTOGRAPHY

Only press photographers and the official commencement photographer will be allowed on the ground level during the ceremony. For your convenience, we have made arrangements with Chappell Graduation Images to record the moment graduates are personally recognized.

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS

Commencement weekend will be very busy with other activities in the Bowling Green community.  If overnight accommodations are necessary, it is recommended that reservations be made immediately.
