College courses can be taken by attending the WKU
main campus or in a variety of other ways.
Regular college courses are offered via correspondence
study through the Office of Independent
Study (phone, 270-745-4158).
Some undergraduate and graduate courses are offered as web courses. For
information about web
courses visit the ReachU website
or email ReachU. Some courses are
also offered each semester
through extended campus centers. Students who are unable to come to campus
for various reasons
may enroll in classes at the centers:
Glasgow Campus-phone, 270-659-6900 or 270-745-5080 or 270-745-5096
Owensboro Campus-phone, 270-684-0104 or 270-745-5095
Elizabethtown Campus-phone, 270-942-8381 or 270-745-5079 or 270-769-1614
The academic support division offers courses that build the knowledge
and skills necessary for
academic success. Preparatory courses in English, basic mathematics and
beginning algebra
prepare students for sequential 100-level (Freshman level) courses. Reading
improvement and
study skills courses build comprehension and methodologies that help students
in all academic
courses. All courses provided through the academic support division sharpen
your skills and
provide college credit but do not count toward a degree. For more information
about these
programs, visit Bowling Green Community
College website or call 270-780-2550.
Another alternative for non traditional students is the Bachelor
of General Studies. The Bachelor
of General Studies degree provides an alternative four-year program for
adults and other
nontraditional students who do not need or want the academic specialization
involved in traditional
major or major/minor programs. This degree program allows the student
considerable latitude and
flexibility to satisfy individual interests and needs. For additional
information, phone the Academic
Advising and Retention Center at 270-745-5065.
