University Outcomes Assessment Committee (UOAC)

The UOAC functions under the auspices of the
Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Purpose:
· The UOAC will support a process of continual self-evaluation and improvement across all academic and nonacademic units at Western Kentucky University.
· Its primary function is in an advisory/ supportive capacity to academic and nonacademic departments with respect to the total assessment process.

Pursuant to that purpose, the UOAC will:
· Review the assessment documents submitted by the departments or units and provide feedback to the units for improvement purposes;
· Provide assistance and consultation to academic and administrative and educational support (AES) units in formulating and implementing assessment plans consistent with the standards established by SACS;
· Provide an annual review to the Provost documenting the strengths and weaknesses of the University’s overall effort in assessment and institutional effectiveness.

Composition of the UOAC will be as follows:
· Chair (named by the Provost)
· Faculty representatives and/or administrators from each college
· Representatives from AES units
· A representative from Institutional Research
· A representative from the Office of the Provost
· A representative from the University Senate
