KENTUCKY'S YOUNG GIFTED AND TALENTED NEED YOUR HELP TODAY!

The proposed budget for the Commonwealth of Kentucky includes two critical hits that could prove devastating to gifted education. The house of Representatives is currently preparing a budget.

Now is the time to contact your legislators!

  • Message One:
Do not reduce gifted education funding. Maintain the current funding of $7.4 million for gifted education.

  • Message Two:
Do not allow for flexible spending within the block grant. Keep gifted education funding separate.

  • Message Three:
In order for Kentucky "to build a new economy where we can have the increased standard of living and quality that we all want" (Governor Patton's charge in his 2002 Budget Address), the Kentucky Academy for Mathematics and Science must be funded in the Budget. Now, too, is the time to let your legislators know that you support funding for the Kentucky Academy of Mathematics and Science.
