Western Kentucky University, Center for Gifted Studies has provided services to young people who are gifted and talented, their educators, and their parents for almost thirty years. The Center is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Coordinator, Gifted Programming. The Coordinator will have responsibility for program coordination, professional development, as well as grant writing and implementation. Responsibilities: The following duties are customary for this position, but are not construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs. 1. Plans and facilitates student programming throughout the year 2. Provides professional development for educators and parents 3. Is a productive team member 4. Writes grants for programming and scholarship opportunities 5. Assists in opportunities offered by The Center for Gifted Studies and in operations of The Center 6. Potential to teach graduate classes in gifted education
Required Qualifications: 1. Master’s Degree with specialization in Gifted Education 2. Excellent written and oral communication 3. Experience providing professional development 4. Excellent organizational skills 5. Ability to manage materials for professional development 6. The ability to drive to various locations
Desired/Preferred Qualifications: 1. Doctorate Degree 2. Background in science or mathematics 3. Education background and/or experience in media and technology to include web maintenance, social networking, etc.
Salary Grade: 108 Expected Salary Range: $38, 000.00 - $40, 000.00 annually
