This annual conference sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs offers an excellent forum for college faculty, staff and administrators to celebrate student learning through student engagement. Presentations provide conference participants the opportunity to showcase student engagement learning outcomes.
This year's conference addresses the outcomes of student engagement. The opening plenary session will feature a national speaker. The conference will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18. Presentation sessions of 45 minutes will be available as well as lunch and a closing session.
Suggestions for Session Topics
Celebrating Student Success: Outcomes that demonstrate students' capacity to apply knowledge and training.
Celebrating Student Success: Outcomes that demonstrate students' respect for diversity of peoples, ideas and cultures.
Celebrating Student Success: Outcomes that demonstrate students' awareness of their opportunities as responsible citizens in a global society.

Proposals must be submitted online. The online submission form is available at http://www.wku.edu/teaching/db/conferences/aa/
This is a new proposal submission system requiring that you first create an account and then log into that account to submit your proposal.
Acceptance notification will be by e-mail by April 25, 2008.
Steps to Submitting a Proposal
Visit http://www.wku.edu/teaching/db/conferences/aa/
- Select “Engaging the Spirit Conference” from the drop down menu.
- Click on “Register for Proposal Sessions”
- Complete the form for the primary presenter and click “submit”
- Click on “Submit New Proposal”
- Complete the proposal process.
Note: Given the time limit on keeping a proposal form open, we strongly advise you to write out your proposal in a word processing document and then to copy and paste the appropriate sections into the form. It is also possible to submit the proposal partially complete, then return through the Edit Your Proposal feature and work some more. Do "Submit" your proposal every 15 minutes to avoid losing your work.
The session proposal must include:
- Session Title (up to 10 words)
- Session Abstract (up to 100 words)
- Session Description (up to 500 words, not including references list)
