Learning Community collaboration has both advantages and costs.
Collaboration, of course, takes time, and working with other
faculty to structure a coherent inter-disciplinary block can
be a demanding undertaking.
The downside of learning communities, even though students
liked the idea of getting to know people initially, because
they had 3 linked classes, toward the end of the semester they
felt it somewhat limited their opportunity to meet more new
people.
