Influenza
WKU Health services has the ability to do ‘flu testing
and the physicians can prescribe medication if indicated. The
‘flu vaccine is made available for students, faculty and
staff. Additional vaccinations may be available agencies in
the Bowling Green area, at public health departments, or in
students’ hometowns.

Mood disorders/Substance abuse
At Western Kentucky University the physicians at Health Services
are able to evaluate and treat students who are having emotional
problems.
The staff at the Counseling and Testing Center in Potter Hall
is available to offer assistance to these students. This Center
also offers an online pamphlet collection on mental/emotional
health conditions relevant to students at

In a crisis situation a student can be escorted to either of
those locations. Additionally, the WKU Police Department can
be contacted, especially if the patient is violent or threatening
to hurt him/herself or others.
